Translation

With language transfer, we help you to understand a language.

The significant increase in translation demand has surpassed the prediction. Today, the growing numbers of translation projects come from parties like companies, governments, and individuals who employ this service in world-level communication and products.

In the translation industry, the service is not only to convert the language of a certain text into the target language. It becomes more complex since several subjects need more comprehension and deep knowledge related to the subject. Moreover, in product localization, a translator’s duty is even doubled with the extra cultural understanding so that a certain product or company can be accepted by the target audience.

At TRANSCORE, we clearly understand this challenge and we can support you with multiple choices of translation services.

  • Translation Only (TO)

Translation Only (TO) package is the most basic translation service that employs one linguist as a translator and also a reviewer. The specification of the translator will be based on the project language, type, and size.

  • Translation and Editing (TE)

Translation and Editing is the higher version of TO package which will employ more than one linguist. The translation expert linguist will carry out the rendering process which is to translate the documents or contents to the target language. The second linguist is our dedicated editor who masters both language pairs. The editor must find possible mistakes in translation and make sure the accuracy of the results.

  • Translation, Editing, and Proofreading (TEP)

The third choice is a complete package that the final results are achieving zero-mistake translation. As in the previous package which translating and editing are carried out by two qualified linguists, the translation results should pass the final stage handled by a proofreader. A proofreader has to check the layout of the final document and make sure that the final version is without grammatical and spelling errors. The additional duty is to check the consistent use of expressions and terms.

Note: those three options of translation above are carried by humans with or without the CAT tool.

  • Machine Translation Post- Editing (MTPE)

The machine translation post-editing is a translation technique that uses both human and machine translation to carry out the project. This is a hybrid option where you can save more time and effort while still maintaining the accuracy of the results. The first stage of the process is having the documents or contents translated by machine translation. It will be a quick and economical process in handling a large volume of documents. But the raw results are often with lots of mistakes. The second step is on the editor hand who has experience in the related field. The duty is to spot mistakes and errors as well as make the document more relevant and acceptable as final results.

Transcription

What is heard, can be different when written.

Transcription is the act of rendering recorded speech or conversation into written texts precisely. This service is often implemented in professional fields to keep the record into easy-to-use written documents for other purposes.

Business interviews, legal proceedings, medical consultation are several examples that need this kind of invaluable written resources. These transcription results can provide easier usage compared with the recorded version. Users will be more familiar to find the key topics of a recorded speech or items discussed in an interview from written documents. People with difficulties or hearing impairments can also access the interview transcription accurately from the interview transcripts.

There are several types of transcriptions based on the way it is processed:

  • Full transcription – This is also called verbatim transcription which will write down everything in the recording including stutter, filler speech, idiosyncrasies, Interjections and other sounds. This type of transcription often used in qualitative study, journalism and legal proceeding.
  • Clean Transcription – The clean transcription is also called non-verbatim transcription or intelligent verbatim. While the process is actually the same as the full transcription, the non-verbatim should not include any stutter, filler speech, idiosyncrasies, and Interjections. The result will be a clean and easy-to-read document used mostly in education field.
  • Summary transcription – The summary transcription is a different style of transcription which needs transcriber understanding upon topic. The results will be about the key topic, concept, conclusion and also summary of the audio or video records.

Subtitling And Captioning

A subtitle is a set of texts embedded in a movie or video containing a translation version of the spoken dialog or narration. The function is to help people to get the right meaning and better understanding of the video content. Subtitles can be a good medium for language learners in particular, and for anyone who wants to get a complete and precise understanding of visual work.

The difference between subtitling and captioning is often about the language that used in the text. While the subtitle text is mostly using the translated version, the captioning maintains the original language used in the video. The range of video subtitles and captions is also slightly different. The subtitle will only include the whole dialog or narration of the video. Meanwhile, the video caption will show the spoken dialog including noises, sound effects, background, and also the speaker names.

Both subtitle and video caption have the same purpose which is to make the visual work more understandable for wider and different audiences. However, the target audience is sometimes different. The subtitle is commonly used for people who speak a different language and the video caption is to help/aid people with hearing impairment.

At TRANSCORE, we are very familiar with both types of tasks. We have finished numerous numbers of subtitling works as well as captioning works involving different types of language sources and audio-visual works.

Interpretation

An interpreter’s main duty is to explain the meaning of something in his/her understanding upon a subject during a convention, conversation, meeting, or other events.

When people said that they need interpretation, it means they need an explanation to help them understand and carry on during the events. It needs the process of remaking and reframing speech or ideas in other people to message then delivering them in the language that is understandable by the audience.

Another interpreter’s duty is also to communicate meaning and interpretation of a certain place, events, or things. It needs actual comprehension about the things that become the topic. The process will require the interpreter to make a description and conclusion about the meaning or relationship of things that become a topic for interpretation.

The first mode for interpretation is consecutive interpreting. It needs the interpreter to render a message in the source into the target language within a pause given by the speaker. It is often used in a meeting or discussion to facilitate the interaction of people who speak different languages.

The next mode is simultaneous Interpreting which is often found in large conferences or meetings. In this mode, an interpreter is not given any delay between speech, thus he/she needs to render the message simultaneously.

The third mode is escort interpretation. As its name, the purpose of this service is to escort someone who wants to travel to a place that has a different language. This service is applicable for an individual or a small group of travelers.

At TRANSCORE, we know the different types of interpretations above and will supply the most suitable and experienced interpreters for your different occasions.
